William Seeders Mosheim Another gem from Vilray! This track combining the harmonica and pedal steel backup creates a timeless emotional response so fitting for what we're all working through and his feelings on them expressed in the lyrics and delivery. Highly suggest checking out the video he made for it as well. Excellent all round!

lauriede I’ve been a fan of Vilay’s since seeing perform with Rachael at Caffe Lena over 2 years ago. I’ve seen him twice since, as I love his clever lyrics and catchy tunes, as well as his smooth guitar playing and breezy whistling. He makes me smile and this song makes me laugh. A healing respite for a broken time. Favorite track: Here I Lie (olly olly oxen free).

lyrics

The newsman said
In two weeks time
I may drop dead
If I go outside,
But he don't know the dangers in my bed.
My pillow's soft,
my room is dark,
And if I cough
A panic starts,
And no one's here to tell me I'm ok
And here I lie all day.
It’s been all month this way,
But if I live, and glory be,
A pretty nurse may call to me,
And olly olly oxen free us all.

The President said,
By Easter time,
If you ain't dead
you might be fine,
But he's been known to put his own dreams out ahead.
So come the
Resurrection time,
Think I'll lay back
In this bed of mine
To hear if things ain't 'perfect' like he said.
And here I'll lie all day,
And here is where i'll stay.
But if I live, and glory be,
A pretty nurse may call to me,
And olly olly oxen free us all

And here i lie
here i cry
And here is where I’ll stay
But if I live and glory be
A pretty nurse will call to me
Sayin olly olly oxen free
Oh olly olly oxen free
Calling olly olly oxen free to us all
